Eating Buffet

There are times when the opportunity to eat from a huge selection of foods and dishes arises.
As much as we should try to avoid these situations, it's not always possible.

What do I do in a situation like that?
  •  I pick just the items that I want the most, my favorites.
  •  Be sure to include lots of your favorite vegetables.
  •  Try to stay within your average calorie allocation, under 500 calories?
  •  You can still enjoy but stay on track towards your goals.

Having Trouble Losing Weight?

Are you having trouble losing that weight or keeping it off?
Double check these areas!
  1. Are you keeping track of your food intake? Try for 1,200 - 1,500 calories a day!  Write it down.
  2. Are you getting 10,000 steps in a day? Mine rounds out to be about 2 1/2 miles plus. (I have short legs)
  3. Are you "Eating Clean," from the fresh, whole basics?
  4. Are you committed to being consistent and determined?

The Western Diet

A diet containing lots of processed foods and meat, lots of added fat and sugar, lots of refined grains, low in fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains can commonly be named, the “Western Diet.” Populations who eat in such a way suffer from high rates of obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancers.

What should we eat?

• Real food that has not been processed. Keep to the outside perimeter of your grocery store, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, unsalted nuts, less meats, etc.

• Most restaurants and fast food stops provide foods from processed, flavor enhanced sources.

• Cook for yourself and family using ingredients you know are fresh and healthy.

• Avoid heavily processed foods or “edible food-like substances.”

• Organic can be a better alternative to pesticide laden foodstuffs.

• Plant an organic garden!!

• Pack a lunch from home.
