Burn 300% More Body Fat!

In order for aerobic exercise to be an effective fat burner it needs to be performed at the appropriate times. There are two ideal times when aerobic exercise is most effective in burning fat. The first ideal time is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach after drinking 16 to 24 ounces of water in order to prevent dehydration. When performed at this time you burn 300 percent more body fat than at any other time in the day because your body does not have any glycogen (stored carbohydrates) in it's system to burn. Therefore, it has to go directly into the fat stores in order to get the energy necessary to complete the activity. The other time that aerobic exercise is most effective is immediately after a weight training session, when your gycogen stores have already been depleted. Because of this, once you start doing your cardio, you will burn fat as soon as you elevate your heart rate since it will be the only fuel that will be available.

That is interesting, I did not know you could burn 300% more body fat at those times. I will have to try exercising first thing in the mourning.

I'm testing it out too. So far so good! The science and mechanics makes sense and is logical.

I will respectfully disagree about empty stomach exercise. This is a much debated topic, however...and there are definitely two schools of thought. It is interesting to google this subject and read the pros and the cons.

Personally, when I do a small 100-150 calorie snack 30-45 minutes before weights and aerobics I have much more stamina and endurance than I do on an empty stomach. From the reading I have done...the very best way to burn fat is to build muscle...that burns it all day long...not just during exercise. That is what I am shooting for. Here are some of the articles I have read on the subject that made a compelling argument against empty stomach exercise:

From Jillian Michaels: Never work out on an empty stomach or you’ll lose muscle mass because your body will convert muscle into glucose. Eat about 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to working out so you have enough blood sugar. You want to be fueled, but you don't want to get cramped because your stomach is full. Get a good combination of complex carbohydrates, healthy fat and protein. Have a handful of raw walnuts and an apple, almond butter on half an Ezekiel English muffin, or low-fat organic yogurt and organic berries.

Nice to hear from Greta! My goal during my aerobic exercise is to burn body fat, not obtain stamina & endurance. I don't much care about stamina & endurance, seeing as the work has to get done anyway. I would rather have less stamina for my workout and burn the body fat. I eat a protein & carbohydrate meal after my workout which refuels and provides protein for muscle growth. Jillian Michaels would lose muscle mass exercising on an empty stomach because she has no stored body fat to burn. I do! Keep those comments coming in! Love them!

Her point is that your body will use muscle as fuel instead of fat if you exercise on an empty stomach...regardless of how much body fat is hangin around. That does not sound good to me!! You might try both...and see which works better. If you have a body fat scale, it would be good to measure. Try one week with a 100-200 cal snack pre exercise and see what happens with body fat% and lean muscle. Then, one week on empty stomach. I'd be very curious to know your results!!
